New Monmouth Presbyterian Church returned to 10 a.m. Sunday school and 11 a.m. worship this Sunday.

Thank you to the praise team for leading the singing of “Hail to the Lord’s Anointed.” Pastor Casey preached from John: 16. We meditated on the good news that when the Spirit convicts us, we are led back to the grace of Jesus, and we are restored. The New Monmouth Praise Choir (children’s choir) is back in full swing! They worked on singing and chimes on Sunday after church. Adult choir kicks off again this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Next Sunday, Sept. 17, is our church picnic at the Hotinger Creek. Come on out at 5 p.m. for a potluck, and we will celebrate communion together. All are welcome to come earlier for creek time, and feel free to bring a friend or neighbor!

We are having a renewal weekend Nov. 3-5, with guest speaker Karen Swallow Prior on Nov. 4. Please RSVP by emailing Pastor Rachel Clark (RevRachelClark@ gmail.com).

Thank you to Tim Hodges for planning and taking charge of the potato planting and harvesting on the church property. Thanks to the joint effort between New Monmouth and the Kerrs Creek Ruritan club, we were able to harvest 350 pounds of potatoes that were then donated to the food bank!

Happy birthday to Joedy Mackey who celebrates his 50th birthday this week!

Maggie Kirkland’s second great-grandchild, Rhiannon, was born yesterday!

Praises were offered for the helping hands of others, especially for help in transporting a rescue dog in the middle of the night.
