Collierstown Presbyterian Church celebrated Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 10, in the church sanctuary. Information on a new year of Christian education opportunities was provided. Sharing information on the Night and the C&F Circles’ Bible studies for 2023-24 were Jean Cook and Louise Tardy. Reese Mc-Cormick invited adults to join the adult Sunday school class that meets at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. This year’s study will be on the book of Ephesians. The children of the congregation took part in the service along with assistance from Rosalea Potter and the Christian Education Committee. Those children participating in the service with speaking roles were Carly Potter, Catherine McCormick, Chessie Gentry, Andi Potter, Taelor Hicks, Deacon Gentry, and Riley Potter. Burr Datz was the guest speaker for the worship hour. The congregation welcomed Joanna Fainter as guest pianist.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s C&F Circle begins a new year of Bible study on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. The group will be studying “Sacred Encounters: The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Acts” by Rev. Dr. Olive Mahabir. Area women interested in participating are invited to attend. For more information, contact Louise Tardy, treasurer, or Judy Goodbar who will lead the Bible study. The Presbyterian Women will hold their fall meeting on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m., BARC will hold a town hall meeting open to the public in the fellowship hall to talk about high-speed internet service for the Collierstown area. BARC will provide an update on where they are in this process.
As October approaches, the Collierstown United Methodist Church’s congregation has planned homecoming activities for their church family and would like to invite area Collierstown residents to participate in their celebration. On Saturday evening, Oct. 7, at 6 there will be special music by the Ladies of Mercy in the church sanctuary followed by a time of fellowship and light refreshments. On Sunday, Oct. 8, the 183rd homecoming celebration will be held with guest minister the Rev. Doug Mitchell speaking at the 11 a.m. service. Mitchell served as minister of the church from 2010 until 2013. A covered-dish luncheon will follow the worship hour
