Another Rockbridge Regional Fair has come and gone. This writer finally got to attend, at least a small portion of it. Our family was hit with Covid the first two years. This year, I’m sad to say, my husband passed away a few days before the fair. I was able to attend the event on Thursday. The music, food, livestock show, rides were enjoyed by many, in spite of the fact that other major fall events were taking place in the area . Fortunately, the little rain event only delayed the fair on Saturday, but didn’t stop it like last year.

The is a meeting at Glasgow Baptist Church on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 4:30 p.m. to plan for a Community Autumn Outreach event on Oct. 28. Watch for details on this event.

The next community meals in our area are scheduled for Oct. 11, at the Thompson Center in Glasgow, and on Oct. 25, at the Natural Bridge Fire Department.

November is right around the corner, and candidates for Town Council and mayor are gearing up their campaigns. There are two Council members running for reelection, Tom Camden and Lisa Rogers. There are three seats available on Council, and there is a possible write-in candidate. Paul Williams is seeking reelection as mayor, while running against him is Joshua Fitz. Watch for write-ups on these folks in the near future, as soon as I can pin them down for an interview.
