Rabies Clinic In Glasgow This Saturday

A low-cost rabies clinic will be held at the Glasgow rescue squad building at 710 McCulloch St. this Saturday, Sept. 16, from 1. to 3 p.m.

Natural Bridge Animal Hospital's Dr. Kerri McDermott and staff, in cooperation with Glasgow Life Saving and First Aid Crew, will be hosting the event.

This event is a low-cost rabies vaccination for dogs and cats provided through donations of vaccine, veterinarian and staff. The cost will be $10 cash and will be donated to the Glasgow squad.

Pet owners will be expected to provide identification showing name and address, preferably a driver's license, for accuracy and expediency of certificate.

For a three-year certificate, pet owners must have the certification from the previous vaccination by state law. If not, the pet will be eligible for a one-year certificate only.

This will be a drive-thru clinic. Owners will be directed to drive into a bay, their pets will receive the injection, and they will be directed to exit the bay. Cats must be in a carrier. Volunteers will take the carrier into a separate room to administer the vaccine in order to ensure the safety of the cat.

Pet owners are also asked to consider making a donation to the Angel Fund at Natural Bridge Animal Hospital.

For any questions, call Larry Spangler at (540) 460-6903.
