Kendal at Lexington will host a Falls Prevention Awareness Day event this Friday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. in Kendal Hall.
Mandi McComas, a registered nurse, former Rockbridge County emergency medical services provider, past director of quality and compliance at KaLex, public health manager, and certified falls prevention specialist, will be the guest speaker.
“This is a perfect opportunity for older adults and caregivers in our hometown to learn how to prevent falls and take simple steps to reduce their risk,” said a Kendal spokeswoman.
After the talk, representatives from various community organizations will be on hand to provide perspectives and information to highlight pertinent fall prevention issues and solutions.
