Cline Thanked For Support Of Vehicle Bill

Sept. 18, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: A big thanks to Ben Cline for voting for the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act.

This commonsense bill prevents the banning of vehicles with internal combustion engines and the forcing of electric vehicles on American consumers. EVs are far more expensive than comparable gas-powered models and make travel practically impossible without long charge times. Mandating their use would be a huge tax on Virginia family incomes and our time. At a more basic level the bill is about freedom of choice.

Next the bill goes to the U.S. Senate where I hope our senators will do the right thing for Virginia and vote for it. DAN PEZZONI Lexington
