MAXINE SYKES

Maxine Lee Sykes, 90, of Lexington died Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at her home.

Born Sept. 18, 1932, in Switchback, W.Va., she was a daughter of Lanford Musick and Maybelle Artrip Musick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newburn Sykes; a son, Charles Sykes; and two son-in-laws, Doug Wright and Joe Williams.

Maxine was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed football, NASCAR, reading her magazines and loved her family.

Surviving are children Carl Sykes (Yvonne), Janie Hotinger (Ray), Glenn Sykes, Pamela Sue Wright, Arnold Sykes (Vonda) and Donna Williams; eight grandchildren, Dougie Wright, Sherry Farley, Ryan Williams, Jessie Skeen, Brittany Booher, A.J. Sykes, Eric Hotinger and DWayne Sykes; 11 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Chris Farley. Interment will be 12.30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon.
