‘Pack’ City School Board Meeting About Book

Sept. 25, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: The city of Lexington and Rockbridge County citizens … call to action!

Once again, we are faced with inappropriate sexually geared materials that are being put on the shelves of the libraries in our local schools. Grab your copies of “Kiss Number 8” by Colleen AF Venable and illustrated by Ellen T. Crenshaw, and meet us on Tuesday, Oct. 3, for story time. Those of us who are concerned echo the recent call to action that was published by a local fourth-grade teacher and mother of seven, Lizzy Braman. This call to action is for anyone in earshot of this message. Let’s pack the house and send a message to the School Board that Lexington and Rockbridge citizens are paying attention and seek to resolve the issues of sexually explicit books in our school libraries.
