SHIRLEY WOOD

Shirley Sandidge Wood, 84, of Glasgow peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Born Dec. 2, 1938, she was the daughter of Herman and Myrtle Sandidge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Denise Wood; brother, Elwood Sandidge; and sister, Betty Lou Sandidge Pelter.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charlie Mac Wood, as well as a daughter Stacy Wood Bresko (John), and son, Charlie Mac “Chris” Wood Jr. (Christine); sister, Sylvia Sandidge Burch (Donald); grandchildren, Jillian, Kyle, Cameron, Cody and Darby; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a longtime member of Glasgow Baptist Church and leaves behind many friends whom she loved dearly.

Shirley spent her life serving others. She was an avid reader, loved to listen to music, and enjoyed spending time outside.

A funeral was conducted Monday, Sept. 25, at Harrison Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeremy Kilgore. Interment followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens in Lexington.
