Natural Bridge Station, Glasgow, and surrounding areas mourn the passing of Shirley Sandidge Wood, on Sept. 19. Shirley will be remembered also for her work at Loughhead Building Supply in Glasgow and Natural Bridge Station, where she served as secretary and working the desk whenever needed, always with a smile. I remember Shirley and Charlie Mac enjoyed their visits to Georgia to see their grandchildren excel in sports. Her memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 25. A full obituary will be in this issue of this newspaper.
Sympathy is extended to the family of the Rev. Lucy Jackson-Hughes, pastor of Beth Horon United Methodist Church for the recent passing of her husband, retired Lt. Col. Calvin Hughes. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will be open Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 to 11 am.
