Tuesday, Oct. 3 -- Both local high school volleyball teams picked up district wins at home, as Rockbridge County swept Broadway and Parry McCluer fended off Narrows 3-1.
In Lexington, the Wildcats (17-1, 7-0 Valley) cruised to a 25-7, 25-8, 25-9 victory over the Gobblers, extending their winning streak to 13 matches in the process. RC will travel to East Rockingham on Thursday.
Over in Buena Vista, the Fighting Blues defeated the Green Wave 25-20, 13-25, 25-14, 25-17. PM is now 3-2 in Pioneer play and 3-7 overall, and the Blues will play host to Eastern Montgomery for Senior Night on Thursday.
Thursday's slate for both schools begins with junior varsity action at 5:30 p.m.
