The Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that occurred last week at the Fancy Hill collection center on U.S. 11 in which a person allegedly walked into one of the containers and shot himself.
The investigation is ongoing, but the Sheriff’s Office told The News-Gazette that there was no indication of foul play and witness statements support that the incident was a suicide. An autopsy is being performed by the medical examiner’s office in Roanoke. - The Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office made the following felony arrests over the past month: Tenicka Perry, 38, of Lexington, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug on Sept. 29.
Joseph William King, 40, of Natural Bridge Station for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug on Sept. 29.
Maxwell Richerson, 18, of Lexington for one felony count of threatening in writing and one misdemeanor count of trespassing on Sept. 28.
Jamie Reed Hall, 36, of Virginia Beach on a warrant from Chesapeake for one felony count of credit card larceny, one felony count of credit card fraud, one felony count of embezzlement and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny on Sept. 26.
Layne Walker Clements, 20, of Lexington, for one felony count of grand larceny and one misdemeanor count of obtaining money under false pretenses on Sept. 23.
Donald Douglas Potter Jr., 56, of Buena Vista, for one felony count of possession of a schedule I or II drug, one felony count of possession of a firearm while possessing a schedule I or II drug, one felony count of abduction, one felony count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, one misdemeanor count of brandishing a firearm and one misdemeanor count of reckless handling of a firearm on Sept. 18.
Dakota Kelley, 25, of Glasgow, on one felony count of strangulation, one misdemeanor count of domestic assault and battery and one misdemeanor count of violating a protective order on Sept.4 and one misdemeanor count of violating a protective order on Sept. 5.
Ariana Ciara Deberry, 24, of Buena Vista, for one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Sept. 4.
Daniel Hindenberger, 21, of Lexington, for one count of felony breaking and entering and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny on Aug. 31. - The Buena Vista Police Department made the following felony arrests over the past month: Michael William Southers, 52, of Buena Vista, for one felony count of domestic assault (third offense) on Sept. 25.
Ashley Wheeler, 31, of Buena Vista for one count of assault and battery of a family member (third offense) on Sept. 14 and one count of abuse or neglect of a child (reckless endangerment), one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug, and one count of endangering a child while having custody on Aug. 30.
Landon Alexander Baran, 19, of Buena Vista, for one felony count of suffocation of another and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery on Sept. 8.
John Travis Cash, 41, of Buena Vista, for one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug on Sept. 4.
Jarrod Wallace, 34, of Buena Vista, for one count of abuse or neglect of a child (reckless endangerment), one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug and one count of endangering a child while having custody on Aug. 30. - The Lexington Police Department made the following felony arrests over the past month: Barbara Fitzgerald Asbury, 56, of Stuarts Draft, for three felony counts of possession of a schedule I or II drug, one felony count of possession of a firearm while possessing a schedule I or II drug and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence (first offense) on Sept. 5.
Victorio Rodriguez Jr., 39, of Lexington, for one felony count of assault and battery on law enforcement, one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct in a public place and one misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice on Sept. 3.
Bryan Elijahjuan Kirby, 34, of Lexington, for one felony count of abuse or neglect of a child (reckless endangerment), one misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice and one misdemeanor count of public intoxication on Aug. 30.
