A potluck meal and a program on “The History of Rockbridge Baths” will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse.
The program will feature the showing of “What Mean These Stones?” a video presentation of the history of Rockbridge Baths by Bernard Bangley. Bangley will also talk briefly and answer questions.
Participants are asked to bring a salad, dessert, or side dish to share for the meal. Chicken and beverages will be provided by the Rockbridge Baths Community Organization, which is sponsoring the event.

Bernard Bangley was pastor of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge Baths from 1966 until 1977. He also pastored churches in Ararat, Lynchburg, and Sarasota, Fla. He is the author of numerous books on classical Christian spirituality and in his retirement frequently preaches in churches in Rockbridge County.
The Rockbridge Baths Community Organization is sponsoring two other events during October, a trash cleanup on the roads in and near Rockbridge Baths on Saturday, Oct. 14, and a vaccine clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Volunteers who are willing to help with road cleanup will gather at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse at 9 a.m. on Oct 14 in order to be assigned a section of roadway where they will pick up trash. Traffic safety vests and orange trash bags will be provided.
The Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) will give Covid and flu vaccinations at the Rockbridge Baths firehouse on Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants must register by Friday, Oct. 13, by calling RAHC at (540) 464-8700, ext. 7110. Because of limited supplies, walk-ins are not possible.
