PATRICK HECHT SR.

Patrick Edward Hecht Sr., 79, of Raphine died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born July 20, 1944, in North Carolina, he was a son of the late Frederick William Hecht Jr. and Minnie Lee Wood Hecht.

Patrick was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and was vice president of Dondero Inc.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Virginia Sue Whipple Hecht; two sons, Patrick Edward Hecht Jr. (Anderson J. Souza), and Michael Randolph Hecht (Stacey); one brother, Frederick William Hecht III; two grandchildren, Aiden Rutledge Hecht and Timothy Michael Hecht; three nephews, Joe Hecht, David Whipple and Robert Whipple; and one niece, Margaret Hecht Wittig.

On Nov. 24, a private service will be held for family in the New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery with interment to follow. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Lexington Rotary Club or Brownsburg Ruritan Club.
