Elizabeth Gordon McAllen Baker died from Alzheimer's disease on Oct. 12, 2023, at Kendal at Lexington.

 

Elizabeth Gordon McAllen Baker died from Alzheimer's disease on Oct. 12, 2023, at Kendal at Lexington.

Daughter of the late Robert Gordon McAllen and Elizabeth Hun, and widow of the late Guthrie Baker, she is survived by three children: Hannah W. Baker of Wheeling, W.Va, Joshua H. Baker of Cascade Locks, Ore., and Sarah Baker Morgan of Silver Spring, Md.; two grandchildren, Ellie Morgan and Casey Emmerling; brother-in-law Alfred Turner of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and nieces Katherine Sachs Casler of Wilmington, N.Y. and Nell Sachs O’Connell of Portland, Maine.

Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Miss Fine's School, Princeton, N.J., and Colby Junior College, New London, N.H., and attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Art.

There will be a memorial gathering at Kendal at Lexington in early November. Mrs. Baker will be laid to rest in Norton Cemetery in Keene Valley, N.Y., summer 2024. Memorial contributions may be made to Colby Sawyer College, Planned Parenthood and the Alzheimer's Association.
