Oct. 13, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: I write to strongly encourage our neighbors and friends in Rockbridge County to vote for Missy Whitesell for Rockbridge County treasurer on Nov. 7.

Missy is a dedicated public servant, having served the citizens of Rockbridge County for 25 years. She worked in the treasurer’s office for over nine years and is the only candidate to have worked in the office.

Missy is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and certainly the most experienced for this position. In her current role with the sheriff’s office as a deputy assigned to the courts, she handles situations on a daily basis that require confidence and trust, two qualities that out treasurer should possess.

Oct. 16, 2023 Editor, The News-Gazette: I am writing to express my support for Melissa “Missy” Whitesell for Rockbridge County treasurer.

As sheriff, I had the good fortune to have Missy as one of my deputies. As such, I found Missy to be dedicated to her work and always willing to take on extra responsibilities and assignments. She was conscientious and tried to do the best job possible.

A large part of Missy’s job involves maintaining evidence records in court proceedings. These records are scrutinized in court on a weekly basis, and has earned her a reputation of being accurate and reliable.

Missy has dedicated her career to public service. I feel she has the experience, dedication, and work ethic to be our next treasurer.
