Friday, Oct. 20 – The Parry McCluer High School football team suffered a 48-8 loss in its homecoming game against Altavista in nondistrict action on Friday night at Bobby Williams Field in Buena Vista.
It was the most lopsided loss of the season for the Fighting Blues fell to 5-3, while the Colonels improved to 6-2.
JJ Jones, who led PM with 30 rushing yards on eight carries, scored the Blues’ lone touchdown on a 36-yard run in the first quarter, and teammate Jackson Brockenbrough ran for a two-point conversion. Brockenbrough rushed for 27 yards on 14 carries.
The Blues (1-1 district) will return to Pioneer District action when they play host to Bath County (8-0 overall, 2-0 district) for their final home game of the regular season next Friday at 7 p.m. Before the game, the Blues will honor their nine seniors.
