Editor, The News-Gazette: Lenna Ojure will be a compassionate, well-informed school board member for the Buffalo District if elected to serve on the Rockbridge County School Board.
Lenna, a long-time resident of Rockbridge County, a devoted mother and grandmother, an exemplary educator at all levels with a sincere commitment to serving our community, has the knowledge, experience, and passion to be an effective communicator and contributor on the Rockbridge County School Board.
As director of Teacher Education at Washington and Lee University, Lenna helped to develop a language program and provide enrichment and literacy opportunities for our elementary students. She served as an effective member on RCPS advisory committees with parents, teachers, and administrators, and she provided quality staff development for our teachers. She worked as a volunteer to promote RCPS teachers’ work and continues to volunteer to work with our students to improve their literacy skills and to provide enrichment opportunities. Lenna works hard to understand the concerns of students, families, faculty and staff members, continually asking questions and adjusting her focus and research to better support those needs.
Please vote for Lenna Ojure during early voting or on Election Day, Nov. 7.
