Carolyn Bradley, 540-258-2720 We’re sliding right through October heading into the holiday season, but first …. you have an opportunity for some fall activities. This Saturday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Glasgow Baptist Church, you and your youngsters will be able to participate in various activities, going from table to table for crafts, games, prizes and some baked goods and candy along the way.
When you leave the church, travel over to Locher Pavilion between 6 and 8 p.m. for some trunk-ortreating, games, fun and for a donation of canned goods you’ll receive a ticket for a slice of pizza. Drinks are also available. The canned goods will be given to the local food pantry. For those wanting to set up and give out candy, please be inside the fence area before 5:30 p.m. This area will be blocked off at that time for foot traffic only.
After a night of fun, attend the church of your choice on Sunday morning, then head over to Union Baptist Church on McCulloch Street from noon to 2 p.m. for their Fall Festival featuring a car show, petting zoo, various games, food and fellowship.
If trunk-or-treating isn’t your thing, but enjoying a good meal is, you are invited to the Natural Bridge firehouse tonight, Oct. 25, for the next Community Table meal from 6 to 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, Oct. 28, the Natural Bridge Christian Fellowship Church will offer a free community meal from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The traditional trick-ortreating will take place on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31.
There is not a lack of activities to participate in to round out your October before heading into November.
