Wednesday, Oct. 25 – The Rockbridge County High School volleyball team earned a 3-1 home win over fourth-seeded Spotswood in the Valley District semifinals on Wednesday night in Lexington.
The Wildcats (23-1 overall, 12-0 district), the top seed in the district, lost the first set against the Trailblazers (17-6, 7-5), but captured the final three sets in their 21-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-16 victory. RC has won 19 consecutive matches.
In the district finals, which will take place at RC on Thursday at 7 p.m., the Wildcats will play host to second-seeded East Rockingham (17-7, 8-4), which defeated third-seeded Turner Ashby 3-0 in the other semifinal on Wednesday night.
