The cool air and swirling leaves of autumn make the county fair seem like a distant memory but our 4-H and FFA youth livestock exhibitors are making necessary selections and decisions for next year’s animals and there is work for the Rockbridge Regional Fair board as well. This year’s Rockbridge Regional Fair held at the Locher Pavilion in Glasgow was a success but now is the time to be developing ideas and making plans to improve and grow the fair.
The Rockbridge Regional Fair board of directors will be holding two community input sessions. The first is Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Glasgow Public Library, 1108 Blue Ridge Road, Glasgow. The second will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Fairfield United Methodist Community Building, 5622 Lee Highway, Fairfield.
The purpose of these meetings is the afford citizens of Rockbridge the opportunity to share their ideas to improve the fair, learn more about how the fair functions, and encourage volunteers on which the fair depends.
If you have an idea or suggestion for the 2024 Rockbridge Regional Fair but are unable to attend either of the community input meetings, you can submit your ideas or suggestions to me, Tom Stanley, through the Rockbridge Extension office at (540) 463-4734 or send email to stanleyt@ vt.edu.
