Editor, The News-Gazette: My support for Leslie Ayers for county supervisor in the Buffalo District is due to the good job she’s done representing her constituents during her current term on the board. She has shown that she listens to all points of view. Along the way, she has done her homework and does not simply follow a shallow agenda. Please vote and consider supporting Leslie Ayers.CLAY DEVENING Lexington -Editor, The News-Gazette: I have been a resident in Rockbridge County since 1948. I have always felt that women should have a voice on the Board of Supervisors. This is why I was so delighted when Leslie Ayers was elected to be the supervisor for the Buffalo District.
Leslie is smart, kind and gets the things done that help all of us. Look how hard she worked to bring us the indoor pool (Rockbridge Aquatics Center)!
Leslie has a lot of experience to talk to people from all walks of life. She cares for our kids’ education as much as she does for the farmers and business owners, who are trying to make a living in this county. Our concerns are her concerns.
This is why I am for Leslie Ayers 100%! Please vote for her on Nov. 7.DOROTHY PERKINS Natural Bridge -Editor, The News-Gazette: We should reelect Leslie Ayers as supervisor. She has brought a cooperative energy to the Board and has been pivotal in bringing about several positive developments. Her work with our fire and rescue system has helped reduce the critical response time by adding full-time staffing to aid our dedicated volunteers. She has supported our investment in the Innovation Center and vocational training at the high school, worked collaboratively with Lexington and Buena Vista to find a location for the muchneeded Department of Social Services building and the hiring of a director of economic development, which is already paying dividends by creating good paying jobs for our citizens.
Leslie’s work with RARO has helped expand recreational opportunities for adults and youth with a record 1,800 plus residents served. (And is it an accident that much of that increase came from the female half of our county?)
So help keep things moving forward. Cast your vote for Leslie Ayers. DAVID WINSTON Natural Bridge
