The occasional Music at Noon concert series at Lexington Presbyterian Church resumes with an organ recital by William Mc-Corkle on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at noon.
The program, celebrating the Epiphany season, will feature organ compositions based on the melody of a well-known hymn, “O Morning Star, How Fair and Bright.” This melody, by the 16th-century German pastor and musician Philipp Nicolas has been the subject of numerous vocal and instrumental compositions over the centuries.
The Jan. 11 program will include organ settings by Buxtehude, Scheidt, Telemann, Krebs, and Bach.
