Pastor Gary Wayne Hill, 66, of Buena Vista died Nov. 11

Pastor Gary Wayne Hill, 66, of Buena Vista, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. 

He was born Nov. 12, 1956, in Lexington, the son of the late Clyde Malcolm Hill and Frances “Teeny” Mull Hill.

He was preceded in death by sister-in-law Natalie Austin; brother-in-law David Mohler; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Gary was presently the Pastor at Rapps Mill Church.  He loved preaching the word and being with his family.  Gary also enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his guns and his dogs, Bullet and Rocky. 

Surviving are his wife, Donna Hill; children, Kimberly Stump (Patrick), Joseph Arthur (Tricia), and Steven Mohler (Carrie); grandchildren, Blake, Skylar, Brooklynn, Zachary, and Brantley; sister, Theresa Harris; aunts, Alma Reed and Faye Hill; sister-in-law, Debbie Chittum; brother-in-law, Mark Cash; special cousin, Melody Gibby; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Bostic, Pastor Wyatt Mays and Pastor Michael Tabor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.
