Senior hitter Maddie Dahl was named Region 3C player of the year, and she was one of six Rockbridge County High School volleyball players who received all-region honors last week. Second- year RC head coach Kassidy Beagan was named Region 3C coach of the year.
In addition to Dahl, other Wildcats named to the all-region first team were senior setter McKenzie Burch and senior hitter Sophie Vaught. Wildcats selected to the all-region second team were junior setter Rebekah Allen, senior hitter Sophia Perlozzo and senior libero Nala Shearer.
The Wildcats won their first Region 3C tournament in five years by defeating Rustburg 3-0 on Nov. 4 in Lexington. The Wildcats, who also won the Valley District regular-season and district title, finished with a record of 27-2.
