Linda Trumbo will be speaking on Sunday, Nov. 19. A congregational meeting after the service elected elders Scott Hannah, Tracy Tackett, and Don Jeffer. Sue Braford, Brad Myers and John McCoy were elected deacons for the class of 2026.
The chili cook-off winners at High Bridge this Sunday were as follows: Brad Myers, first place trophy; Tracy Tackett, second place; and Leigh Ann McCoy, third place. Thanks to judges Jimmy Black, Pam Lotts and Sam Vest.
Looking ahead, High Bridge Presbyterian Women will be working on the “Hanging of the Greens” celebrating the first Sunday of Advent, which will be Dec. 3 when our new pastor, the Rev. Steve Willis of Bedford, will have his initial service.
The Weekday Religious Education fundraiser held Nov. 4 raised $1,805 to date. We especially want to thank Connie Powell and helpers who worked diligently on this raffle project.
Thanks to the attendees who donated cakes and purchased tickets at the Veterans Day cakewalk on Nov. 11 at the Glasgow First Aid building. A special thanks to all the businesses who generously donated prizes. The proceeds will benefit the Glasgow Life Saving Crew.
The community mourns the loss of Jimmy Emore of Glasgow, who passed away last week.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry will be open Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.
