James Rader “Jimmy” Emore, 82, of Glasgow died Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at his home.

James Rader “Jimmy” Emore, 82, of Glasgow died Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at his home.

Born March 14, 1941, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Herbert Lee Emore and Frances Warren Emore.

Jimmy was a member of Natural Bridge Baptist and retired from the town of Glasgow in the maintenance department.

Surviving are his wife, Bette Huffman Emore; seven children, Cindy Coleman, Lindy Glenn (Pete), Teresa Kaufman, Chris Woods, Scott Woods, Tammy Emore, and Jimmy Emore II (Margaret); 13 grandchildren, Lacy Slagle, Rachel Pryse, Matt Kaufman, Danielle Woods, Justin Fainter, Christopher Woods, Jonathan Woods, Corbin Woods, Kendall Gupton, David Coleman, Piper Emore, Payton Emore, and James R. “Tre”” Emore III; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Emore (Sandy); and beloved dog companion Ellie.

A funeral was conducted Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Terry Bostic. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.
