Phyllis Alphin Hockman, 94, of Fairfield died Nov. 14

Phyllis Alphin Hockman, 94, of Fairfield died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Kendal.

Born Nov. 4, 1929, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late John Templeton Hockman and Mary Lois Cook Hockman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Young and Joan Hockman; and one brother, Francis Hockman.

Phyllis was a member of New Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and retired from the Extension Service office for Alleghany County.

Surviving are one sister, Thelma Swisher of Fairfield; and one brother, Harold Hockman of Brownsburg.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at New Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cemetery by Pastor Carl Trost.
