The holiday season in Buena Vista is ushered in on Thursday, Dec. 7, with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in the city square at the corner of 21st Street and Magnolia Avenue, to be followed by the Christmas parade along Magnolia Avenue, beginning at 7 p.m.
This year’s theme for the parade is “Christmas in Toyland.” “Join us for a magical evening filled with festive lights, caroling by Bella Vocce, and the enchanting spirit of Christmas. Bring your family and friends downtown to experience the joy.” said Brooke Dalton, executive director of Main Street Buena Vista. “The parade will feature beautifully decorated floats, marching bands and even Santa Claus himself. Don’t miss out on this beloved holiday tradition that brings the community together in celebration of the season. Bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa at City National Bank, and make lasting memories with your loved ones at the Buena Vista Christmas tree lighting and parade.”
Then on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 5 p.m., Glen Maury Park will be holding a Christmas at the Park celebration. “This festive event is perfect for families looking to embrace the holiday spirit and create cherished memories,” said Dalton. “The Paxton House will be beautifully decorated, creating a magical atmosphere for enjoying hot chocolate, cookies, caroling and holiday cheer. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the joy and excitement on your loved ones’ faces as they meet Santa Claus himself.”
