Engel Leads VHC’s Marketing, Sponsorships

Lisa Davis Engel has been hired as the director of sponsorship and marketing for the Virginia Horse Center.

Lisa Davis Engel has been hired as the director of sponsorship and marketing for the Virginia Horse Center.

Engel will be responsible for all press surrounding the Virginia Horse Center and corporate sponsorships for the center.

A life-long horsewoman, Engel has more than 20 years’ experience cultivating and activating sponsorships across the country and was also charged with the responsibility of writing all press and promotional materials for the Virginia Festival of Champions over the past two years.

Engel is president of A Wynning Advantage LLC and has worked with some of the top equestrian competitions in the United States, including the AQHA, the USHJA, Washington International, HITS, Dressage at Devon, Jersey Fresh, SMG’s equestrian facilities and the Classic and Gulf Coast Classic Companies. Her articles have appeared in numerous equestrian publications.

Engel has also added Lisa Thomas, president of Brand Farm LLC, to assist her with media coverage at the VHC. A former event rider and seasoned equestrian public relations expert, Thomas has worked with top Olympic eventing riders and equestrian businesses throughout North America.

Glenn Petty, chief executive officer of the Virginia Horse Center Foundation, said, “Having worked directly with Lisa in connection with the Virginia Festival of Champions for the past two years, I know firsthand the talent and connections that she brings to the table. We are excited to have her working with us year-round.”

Engel commented, “I’m thrilled to work with the Virginia Horse Center. The facility is world-class and one of the most beautiful in the country. I’m looking forward to working with the show managers to promote VHC events and connect corporate sponsors to the Virginia Horse Center facility, as well as the unique multi-discipline competitions that take place in the heart of horse country.”

A Stockton, N.J., resident, Engel graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and pursued her MBA at Loyola University Chicago.

Engel is mother to four children and four rescue pets. Her eldest daughter, Tory, is the athletic trainer for Dartmouth College’s equestrian team and track and field team in Hanover, N.H.; her son Gunnar resides in Colorado; her son Ronan is a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point; and her youngest daughter Holland attends Rutgers University.
