BOYD WALKER

Boyd Alvin Walker, 82, of Glasgow, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born March 7, 1941, in Botetourt County, he was a son of the late Claude Alvin Walker and Betty Byer Sloan Walker.

Boyd retired from the U.S. Navy with 30 years active duty service as a chief warrant officer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Utkewicz; brother, Rodger Walker; and granddaughter, Hayley.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Linda Merle Walker; children, Robert Boyd Walker (Valerie) and Wendy Ellen Clement (Todd); five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, Zachary, Delaney, and Lehi; and two great-grandchildren, Chelsa and Benjamin.

A funeral was conducted Saturday, Nov. 25, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Father J. Biber. Burial followed at Glasgow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and per Boyd’s request, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of his granddaughter, Hayley Ellen Clement.
