Bobby Howard Staton, 88, of Fairfield passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. 

He was born March 6, 1935, in Amherst, the son of the late Love Staton and Effie Coleman Staton.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Jenny Drake and Pamela Lawhorn; grandson, Brad Drake; sister, Virginia; brothers, Henry, Roosevelt, Ronnie and Ralph. 

Surviving are his wife, Shelby Staton; son, Jeffrey Staton (Missy); step-daughter, Kim; step-son, Timmy; grandchildren, Craig Lawhorn (Brooke), Shane Lawhorn, Cassie Drake and Dakota Drake; great-grandchildren, Will, Meredith, Matthew, Devon, Shane, Jr. and Peyson; sisters, Barbara Jean, Priscilla and Shirley; and brothers, Charles, Larry Wayne and Loyd. 

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at First Brethren Church by the Rev. Michael Hamilton. 

Family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the church.
