Charles Edward Mowry, infant son of Dan and Sarah Melvin Mowry, was baptized at Oxford Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, Nov. 26. The Rev. Rob Sherrard baptized the baby and the baptismal bowl was held by the grandmother, Trudy Melvin.

Jean Clark was elected as an elder on the session of Oxford Church, class of 2026, on Sunday, Nov. 26.

Bobby and Stephanie Black and daughter, Sydney, participated in the lighting of the first candle of Advent on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Oxford Church.

The children of the churches and community are invited to come to the field across from the Effinger firehouse on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is sponsored by the seven area churches. C hildren can place letters in a special mailbox to be mailed to Santa and professional pictures with him can be taken.

The Neighborhood Grocery needs donations of canned sweet potatoes, canned gravy or mix, instant potatoes, and other holiday foods.
