Musicians Returning To Hopkins Green

Outdoor Christmas Concert Dec. 17
Musicians Returning To Hopkins Green

The fourth annual Rockbridge Symphony Brass & Friends Christmas Concert will greet Lexington holiday shoppers with the impressive sound of trumpets, trombones, tubas, baritones, and horns aplenty at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Hopkins Green.

Boasting approximately 30 brass musicians, the annual outdoor concert will perform familiar holiday favorites sprinkled with some lesserknown songs throughout.

“Born out of a desire to share music and cheer in a safer way during the trying times of Covid, this concert has become a new fixture in the landscape of the many wonderful community events in Rockbridge County,” said Jack Bissett, Rockbridge Steering Committee president, “The brass musicians are so generous to contribute their time and talents, and of course we are grateful to Peter Del Vecchio for his leadership in bringing everyone together.” The concert is free and open to the public, thanks to sponsorship by Peter Del Vecchio’s Premier Service Realty. The community is invited to bring a chair and enjoy the whole event or stop by for any part their schedules allow.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will move to the Maury River Middle School gym. Check the Rockbridge Symphony Facebook page for up-to-date information.
