Area residents are invited to attend the next meeting of the Rockbridge Regional Fair board of directors on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Building at 150 S. Main St., Lexington.

This will be a public meeting for anyone willing to help run the 2024 Rockbridge Regional Fair. In particular, anyone willing to serve on the fair board should attend and be prepared to express their vision for the Rockbridge Regional Fair in 2024 and beyond.

The Rockbridge Regional Fair board has a number of leadership positions that will be vacant effective Jan. 1, 2024. The board hopes to identify qualified and willing candidates for these positions before that date.

“Even if you are not prepared to assume one of these leadership positions, if you are interested in the future of the Rockbridge Regional Fair and would be willing to accomplish just one task for the fair, you are encouraged to attend Dec. 13,” said a board spokesman.

The future direction of the Rockbridge Regional Fair could be shaped significantly by those who attend the meeting, the spokesman continued. The Rockbridge Regional Fair has a long tradition and great potential but its future will be driven by Rockbridge residents prepared to provide leadership and direction for the event, he said.

Anyone planning to attend the meeting is asked to pre-register by calling the Rockbridge County Extension Office at (540) 463-4734 in order to plan for seating.
