Santa Mailbox In BV

A “Letters to Santa” mailbox has been placed in front of the Buena Vista Public Library.

Students and staff of the schools as well as local residents are encouraged to mail their letters to Santa using this mailbox. This activity is being undertaken on behalf of the Happenings in Rockbridge County website and Main Street Buena Vista.

“Not only will this project put a smile on faces, but it will also help aid in letter writing skills for our children in the area,” said a spokesperson. “We also accept drawings. We encourage creativity. It is our hope to respond to letters. We would be willing to drive to schools to pick up letters, if need be.”

This is the first year that Buena Vista has had a Santa mailbox. “We hope to make this a community tradition,” the spokesperson added. The deadline for all letters to be received is Dec. 22. Letter writers are asked to use the schools’ addresses for return letters from Santa.
