High Bridge Presbyterian Church children lit the Peace Advent candle and after worship, the deacons and elders had their meetings.
The High Bridge Christmas drive-thru titled “Journey to Bethlehem” was rescheduled due to inclement weather for Sunday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m.
Deacons are accepting donations for nonperishable food items for the Natural Bridge/ Glasgow Food Pantry.
Plans are for the Small Group Gathering led by Joe Hawes to be held the last Sunday of each month, beginning in January.
Christmas cards for shut-ins should be returned to the church by Dec. 17.
There will be a candlelight Christmas Eve communion service on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m. Sympathy is extended to the family of Catherine Kessinger who passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, at Kendal. Catherine served High Bridge during the years as elder, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Presbyterian Women’s president as well as holding other offices in the Presbyterian Women. She also received a lifetime membership in the Presbyterian Women. She was a tour guide for AARP bus tours for several years, served on the Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry board and volunteered on distribution days. She also made tatted bonnets for the babies born to members of the congregation and friends and family, as well as beautiful quilts.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry will be open Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m.
