The Sheridan House located at 201 N. Randolph St. was demolished last week. The historic home was heavily damaged in a fire in February of 2016, after which it went through several owners while no repairs were made to the house. Earlier this year, a petition from citizens requesting that the city take steps to prompt some action, either to tear the building down or to repair it, was presented to the Lexington City Council. Owner Chy Clark submitted a request for demolition to the Lexington Architecture Review Board to demolish the building, which was granted. Clark this week declined to comment on future plans for the property.
