Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 The children of High Bridge Presbyterian Church lit the (Love) Advent candle this past Sunday.
Also this Sunday, we welcomed back Audrey Armentrout, whom we have missed at church for several weeks due to hospital and nursing home stays.
The High Bridge live nativity drive-thru was canceled due to weather.
Sunday school continues as usual at 10 a.m. on Christmas Eve with worship at 11. Also, there will be a candlelight Christmas Eve communion service at 5 p.m.
College students home for Christmas and attending High Bridge were Addie Sutter, and Peyton and Miller Jay.
Sympathies are extended to the family of Faye Worley with the passing of her brother, Keith Brown of Roanoke, on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Also, our sympathies go out to the family of former church member Bob Eversmann who passed away this past week at the home of his son and his wife, Tim and Kim Eversmann of South Carolina.
The Rev. Steve Willis will have the ordination and installation of new officers, class of 2026, on Jan. 7 during worship.
