Wishing safe travels to my parents-in-law as they travel this week to Urbana, Ill., to visit my sister-in-law, Christyna Moore and her husband Collin. Also safe travels to my cousin, Amy Ross and her husband Larry as they travel to Mexico for Christmas. My sister-inlaw, Sarah Gardner is home from Utah for Christmas in Buena Vista. Safe travels and best of luck and prayers to my sister-in-law, Bethany Gardner as she travels after Christmas to begin her mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boise, Idaho. Bethany will be in Boise until the summer of 2025.
Faith Baptist Church will have the Christmas communion service today, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. The Christmas Eve service will be at 11 a.m. No Sunday school on Christmas Eve. Movie night is on Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. The church will be showing “Heard The Bells On Christmas Day.” Coffee, hot chocolate, water, and popcorn will be provided. Faith’s New Year’s Eve service will be on Dec. 31 at 6 p.m.
Many thanks to the Rev. Brad Laycock for leading a Holy Eucharist service at St. John’s Episcopal on Dec. 10 and thanks to the Rev. Samson Mamour for leading a Holy Eucharist service this past Sunday.
St. John’s annual Christmas community service will be this Sunday on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. The service of Lessons and Carols will feature special music by Bert Buford on organ, Josh Gardner on euphonium and cornet, Courtney VanOsten on trombone, a recorder trio featuring Naomi, Bethany and Josh Gardner, a full choir, and Bible readings by members of multiple area churches representing several different denominations, all coming together in common faith in the spirit of Christmas. A dinner will follow the service in the Parish Hall.
