The search continues for Martin, a cat who escaped from Lexington Pet Place the day after Christmas.
Martin is one of the cats available for adoption at the Pet Place through its partnership with Furever Friends in Buena Vista.
Store owner Cindi Jacobs said he ran when his carrier broke as she prepared to take him to the vet.
While Jacobs said there have been “no signs or sightings so far,” area residents are asked to be on the lookout for Martin, who is small and gray and somewhat skittish.
Today, a member of Cats Unlimited, a nonprofit for the nonlethal control of cats in Rockbridge County, will be helping the Pet Place set traps around the area.
Jacobs said they will continue bringing in more resources in the search.
“We’ll keep trying, at least another week or two,” she said. “We’re going to have more traps out, have a game camera set up, and just keep going.”
Sightings of Martin can be reported to the Pet Place, (540) 461-8314, or texted to (540) 748-8997 (Blue Ridge Reptile Rescue).
