Needs Don’t Stop In New Year

We live in a community where so many people care so much about each other. All during the holiday season, our neighbors have shown incredible support for the nonprofit organizations that work every day to make life better.

We live in a community where so many people care so much about each other. All during the holiday season, our neighbors have shown incredible support for the nonprofit organizations that work every day to make life better.

Volunteers have packed Christmas boxes, visited nursing homes, and given of themselves to make the season happier for others in so many ways. And the people and organizations they have assisted are truly grateful.

The needs do not stop with the new year. There are still children to be tutored, meals to be delivered, phones to be answered, and food boxes to be packed. There are still teams to be coached, rides to medical appointments to be offered, events to be staffed, and interests to be shared.

Nonprofit organizations depend on volunteers to provide needed services that they cannot completely fund on their own. Giving of yourself and your talents is good for your health, your heart and your soul. And you may just fall in love with that sweet smile, that determined child, or that person working hard to better themselves.

Please call any local nonprofit that serves your neighbors and offer your help. They will very likely have interesting, flexible and satisfying opportunities just waiting for you. If you happen to be interested in helping older adults, just give Maury River Senior Services a call at (540) 2617474.

Because when compassion meets action, lives are changed.
