Wednesday, Jan. 3 – In its final home competition of the season, the Rockbridge County High School wrestling team defeated county rival Parry McCluer 46-33 and beat Bath County 60-24 in front of a large crowd on Wednesday night in Lexington. The Fighting Blues won on criteria after finishing in a 36-36 tie with Bath, their Pioneer District rival.
Before the meet, the Wildcats honored their eight seniors: Todd Caputo, David Castillo, Caiden Cavazos, Sawyer Hattersley, John Lindberg, Ryan Maxwell, Stephanie Ross and Tucker Towle.
RC improved to 6-1 in duals this season, while PM is 3-6.
The Wildcats will return to action on Friday when they compete in the Liberty Christian Academy Invitational in Lynchburg.
The Blues will next compete in the Matt Bryant Memorial Duals on Saturday, Jan. 13 in Franklin. Weather permitting, PM will play host for the youth King of the Hill tournament on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m.
