The Music at Noon concert series at Lexington Presbyterian Church will resume today, Jan. 10, with an organ recital by William McCorkle at noon in the Lexington Presbyterian sanctuary.
Today’s program, entitled “Still Christmas,” will feature organ works inspired by carol and hymn melodies of Christmas. Included will be hymnbased works by the German baroque composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Johann Heinrich Buttstedt, and 18thcentury French Nöels by Claude Balbastre and Louis-Claude Daquin - organ variations on traditional carols from the French countryside.
On Jan. 24, a second organ program, entitled “Still Epiphany, will offer works based on tunes from the feast and season of Epiphany.
The concerts display the church’s C. B. Fisk pipe organ, opus 129 (2007).
