This past Sunday was epiphany Sunday at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. The church remembered the visit of the Magi and the gifts they brought to Jesus.
This month New Monmouth will be filling up baby bottles with change, cash and checks to support the ministry of Comfort Care Women’s Health.
The church celebrated communion together by intinction, using the new stoneware pottery that was made by local potter, Lee Taylor. Check out Sunday’s sermon on YouTube to hear more about the pottery and God’s use of the image of a potter.
A congregational meeting was held after Sunday’s service to elect new elders, approve a trustee, and approve the budget for 2024. Hope Bird, Bill Hacket and Alex Slaydon were approved for the next class of elders, Gary Swink was approved as trustee, and the budget was passed.
The New Monmouth Youth Group will be going snow tubing this coming Saturday. Janeen will communicate specific timing and details this week. Elder training will take place on Sunday morning at 8 am. Breakfast will be provided! During this time, the ruling and teaching elders will discuss vision for the year as well as some specific goals for various ministries of the church. We will spend time praying about where God is leading New Monmouth this year. The newly elected elders will be ordained and installed at Sunday’s worship service.
