Billy Franklin Minter Sr., 73, of Goshen passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at his home with his family.
He was born Feb. 15, 1950, in Lexington, the son of Charles Andrew Minter and Maudie Mae Smith Minter.
Billy was retired from Munters Corporation where he worked in maintenance.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.
Billy was a lifelong handyman and jack of all trades who took great pride in his family, his home, and his yard.
He is survived by his children, Billy Minter Jr. and wife Jennifer of Goshen, Trisha Alphin and husband Tinker of Goshen; many cherished and loved grandchildren ‒ Brittany, Baylei, Leah, Shawn, Madeline, Colton, Dylan, Savannah, Annie, Bailey and Evan; great-grandchildren Kayden, Kole, Braxton, with two on the way, Karter and John Wayne; brother, Joe Minter and wife Kathy of Swoope; sisters Daris Ayers of Goshen and Barbara Knick of Glasgow; mother of his children, Carrie Lyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Minter; a brother, Roy Minter; and a twin sister, Betty “Sissy” Carter.
A private memorial service will be conducted for the family by Pastor Lloyd Via. Interment will be in Bratton’s Run Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
