NANCY BURNETTE

Nancy Moore Burnette, age 69 of Lexington, was called home on Christmas Eve after courageously fighting cancer and other illnesses. Even though we are heartbroken, she has found that perfect peace and was able to celebrate Christmas with Jesus.

Nancy Moore Burnette, age 69 of Lexington, was called home on Christmas Eve after courageously fighting cancer and other illnesses. Even though we are heartbroken, she has found that perfect peace and was able to celebrate Christmas with Jesus.

She was survived by her husband of 54 years, Samuel “Greg” Burnette; two daughters, April Davidson (Mike) and Shannon Clement; three grandchildren, Michael Davidson Jr. (Beth), Emily Davidson (Kevin), and Lexi Burnette; brother, Danny Moore (Judy); and sister, Gayle Wickham; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Gary D. Moore Jr. and Evelyn Plogger Moore; brothers, Roy Moore, Dwight Moore and Gary Allen Moore; and father- and mother-in-law, Otis Gregory “Pete” Burnette and Betty Burnette.

Nancy loved her family and her pets. She loved to cook and made the best yeast rolls and pound cake you ever ate. She was an essential part of Greg Burnette’s Upholstery as she was an exceptional seamstress and did all the sewing for their upholstery business. She had the biggest and kindest heart of anyone you knew. She loved fishing, music and loved to have a good time.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home. Casual dress as Nancy would want you to be comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory. N-G
