Saturday, Jan. 13 – The Parry McCluer High School girls and boys basketball teams both earned home wins over local rival Rockbridge County to sweep the season series on Saturday evening in Buena Vista. The PM girls (11-3) won 39-35 in overtime over the Wildcats (1-14), and the PM boys (10-3) captured a 71-58 victory over RC (2-13).
The Blues had also won both games at RC on Dec. 27, with the boys winning 79-75 and the girls prevailing 48-31.
Both RC teams are scheduled to face Valley District rival Broadway on Tuesday, with the boys at RC and the girls at Broadway. The PM girls are slated to return to Pioneer District action at Narrows on Thursday, and the PM boys are scheduled to travel to Narrows on Friday. All nights will start with junior varsity action at 5:30 p.m.
