There is an opening on the Buena Vista Economic Development Authority. This term will be effective immediately after appointment and will expire on March 31, 2024. You must be a citizen of Buena Vista to serve on this board.

There is an opening on the Public Recreation Facilities Authority. This term will be effective immediately after appointment and will expire on June 30, 2026. You must be a citizen of Buena Vista to serve on this board.

CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED DOG PARK-MCCORKLE DRIVE

A Public Hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, to solicit public comment on the proposed dog park on Mc-Corkle Drive. More information will be available in the upcoming City Council meeting packet on the City Council portal: https://lexingtonva.civicweb. net/portal/.

Citizen comments are welcome at the meeting or you may submit public comments in writing to the following email address: [email protected], by US Mail to City Manager’s Office, 300 East Washington Street, Lexington VA, 24450, or by leaving it in the City’s drop box at the rear of the building (facing the parking lot) and addressed to the City Manager’s Office.

Comments will be distributed to City Council and entered into the minutes as public record.

Jani L. Hostetter, Clerk of Council CITY OF LEXINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE

A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance to allow accessory dwelling units in Lexington’s residential zoning districts. The proposal is to amend Article III to add Accessory Dwelling Unit – Detached as a conditional use in the R-1, R-2, R-M, and R-LC zoning districts; to amend Article IV to add lot requirements for accessory dwelling units; to amend Article XI to add use and design standards for accessory dwelling units; and to amend Article XX to delete the definition for accessory apartment, to amend the definition for building accessory, and to add definitions for accessory dwelling unit – attached and accessory dwelling unit – detached.

A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2023-01, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.
