A Lexington man suffered a life-threatening stab wound following an altercation with a female last Tuesday night.
According to a press release from the Lexington Police Department, police responded to a South Jefferson Street apartment for an unknown situation at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17. Arriving units located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound and police officers immediately rendered first aid to the victim.
The preliminary investigation indicates a physical altercation between the victim and Angelica Long-Stores, who are known to each other.
The male victim, a 40-year-old Lexington resident, was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. He remains in the hospital this week.
Long-Stores, a 33-yearold female, was arrested and charged with felony malicious wounding.

As this was an isolated incident, there is no reason to believe the public is in any danger, according to the police statement.
